Two beaches in the south of the island of Fuerteventura have recently been selected among the best in Europe. Cofete, the most famous virgin beach in the archipelago, and Sotavento beach, in Costa Calma, have been chosen for their beauty, their breadth, their golden sand and for the eternal Canarian summer, which allows them to offer tourists mild temperatures during practically the whole year.

Cofete Beach
Without a doubt, it is the most famous virgin beach in the archipelago. Visiting this natural area is not easy, since it is a protected area that is difficult to access and where there are few houses and paved roads. In it you will find an almost infinite golden sand shore, 12 kilometers long, bathed by the rough waters of the Atlantic.

Sotavento beach is actually made up of five smaller beaches: La Barca, Risco del Paso, Mirador, Malnombre and Los Canarios. The endless walks along its transparent waters do not even need to wait for low tide.
