The DGT is looking for examiners: these are the requirements and what gives the most points in the application

The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) needs to expand its payroll of workers and is looking for 35 driver’s license examiners for 27 Provincial Headquarters in 23 different Spanish provinces with the aim of increasing coverage in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

The body has published a selective process that seeks interim officials in the specialty of Traffic, Subgroup C1 within the General Administrative Body of the State Administration. , the process “will be through competition and will be carried out by virtue of the merits and capacity of the participants, according to the evaluations that are detailed in the call”, .

The places available are for Almería, Badajoz (2), Balearic Islands, Ibiza, Barcelona (2), Sabadell, Vizcaya, Burgos, Cuenca, Cádiz, La Línea, Córdoba, Guipúzcoa (2), Girona (2), Huesca, León, Lleida, Madrid (2), Alcalá de Henares (2), Cartagena, Málaga (2), Navarra (2), La Palma, Las Palmas, Seville, Valencia and Valladolid.

Which are the requirements?

-Have Spanish nationality, of any country of the European Union (or their spouse) or of the countries with which Spain has a valid International Treaties for the free transit of workers.

-Be at least 23 years old and not exceed the compulsory retirement age.

-Have valid driving licenses B (at least three years old and without being subject to the restriction of code 78 of the harmonized EU “limited to cars without a clutch pedal), the A2 license and the C or D license.

-Be in possession or in conditions to obtain the title of Bachelor or equivalent Technician, as well as the homologations in case of foreigners.

-Not be physically or psychologically affected for some of the tasks performed in the DGT.

-Not having been separated from the service of the Public Administration, bodies of the Autonomous Communities or being disqualified from holding public positions and jobs by a judicial resolution.

What is the procedure?

You must apply for the position during the first ten days from the publication of the call. Given that the objective of the call is to draw up a list of candidates to choose the most suitable, those interested must fill out the form that is in the call (and on the websites of the DGT and the Ministry of the Interior) and submit it in a online in the Electronic Registry of the State Administration or in person, on paper, in the General Registry of the General Directorate of Traffic or in the rest of the forms established in article 16 of Law 39/2015, of 1 october.

Along with this form, you must also submit:

-A photocopy of the DNI (exempt those who authorize in their request that the State verify their identity in the Identity Data Verification System).

-Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Technician.

-Driving licenses.

-Documents accrediting the merits that the candidate wishes to demonstrate in the process.

How are the candidates chosen?

The DGT informs that, to qualify the candidates, it establishes a system of 100 points, of which 30 correspond to professional merits. Here 2.75 points will be added per year of experience as a driver training teacher and 0.25 per year of experience as a professional driver according to the Road Safety Law, up to a maximum of 30 points.

The other 70 points correspond to training merits. Having the EC or ED class permit in force will give 10 points, passing the first and second exercise of the opposition phase of the selective process for entry, in free access, in the General Administrative Body of the State Administration in the specialty of Traffic will give 25 and 35 points each, respectively.
