The application for employment is one of the procedures that practically the majority of workers have had to carry out throughout their lives. It is key because it is mandatory for the collection of any of the unemployment benefits managed by the State Public Employment Service, the SEPE.
The body has explained that this procedure, perhaps the most common, “corresponds to the regional employment services”, which is why it invites citizens to contact them when they need to register as job seekers or manage procedures related to the same.
That is why the SEPE with all the links available to the employment services of each autonomous community. Thus, depending on the region in which the citizen resides, they will have to choose one or the other and will need different access methods such as the digital certificate (), electronic DNI or Cl@ve ().
The SEPE explains that, once contacted with the regional employment service, the citizen will be able to carry out procedures related to the demand for employment, such as the following:
-Obtain the job application itself.
-Modify the data of the job demand already achieved.
-Changes of address registered in the registration of the job application.
There is another way to obtain the job application outside the SEPE Electronic Headquarters and it is through the face-to-face method, in one of the agency’s offices. For this it is mandatory to make an appointment (). This prior appointment can be obtained in two different ways:
-At the SEPE Electronic Headquarters without the need for a digital certificate or Cl@ve. It is necessary to enter the DNI and the postal code, although the citizen depends on the availability of appointments. You must indicate that the procedure is ‘Application for employment’, although in the cases of applying for unemployment or a subsidy it can be requested at the same time as the benefit.
-On the phone 91 926 79 70, 24-hour service. In this modality, the citizen will also depend on the availability of spaces for the previous appointment.
What documentation do you need to get the job application
The SEPE what is the necessary documentation that must be taken to a benefits office in the event that the application for employment is managed in person. Is the next:
-An identification document: the DNI or the NIE. “In case of being a foreigner, also the residence and/or work permit”, informs the SEPE.
-The Social Security card. In the case of a foreign worker, you can only contribute it if he has previously worked in Spain.
-Certificates of academic or professional qualifications.
