The State Public Employment Service (SEPE) has among its most requested benefits the subsidy for people over 52 years of age, which can be received by people who have been left without the unemployment subsidy or without the contributory unemployment benefit, unemployment.
However, the mere loss of unemployment or the unemployment subsidy does not imply the immediate collection of this subsidy for those over 52 years of age. Apart from the logical condition of having the established age, the citizen must also meet other requirements to be able to collect the aid. :

-Be unemployed and not have the status of discontinuous permanent worker.
-Sign the activity commitment.
-Certify that, except for age, they have met the age (15 years, of which two must occur in the last 15) and have contributed to unemployment for at least six years.
-Do not receive monthly income higher than 75% of the Minimum Interprofessional Salary, which from January to August was 712.50 euros and from September is 723.75 euros. If this criterion is not met at the time of the application but is met less than a year later, the citizen may apply for the subsidy and collect it. Here it is key, which will have to be delivered each year if this aid continues to be collected.
The subsidy for people over 52 years of age can be accessed upon reaching this age in any of the following cases: when unemployment or the unemployment subsidy runs out, in people who have returned to Spain (for at least 12 months in the last six years), placed in freedom after serving at least six months, after (or having it partially) due to an improvement in our state or after having worked but without the right to collect unemployment.
If the citizen, being in one of these cases, had been registered as a job seeker and had maintained that registration until the moment of reaching the age of 52, he will not need to wait a month to request the subsidy. This does not apply to beneficiaries of the benefit for cessation of activity or to temporary agricultural workers. In addition, any period of less than 90 days in which enrollment is interrupted will not be counted as a break in enrollment.
How long does it last and what is the amount of the subsidy?
There is no specific duration of the subsidy for people over 52 years of age. In case of not finding a job, and having the right to collect the retirement pension, you will stop receiving the subsidy when you reach the (currently 65 years old and 66 for those who do not reach 37 years and three months of contributions).
The amount of the subsidy for people over 52 years of age, like so many others, is 80% of the IPREM (Public Indicator of Multiple Effects Income). For 2021 that amount is 451.92 euros per month, but after that contemplated in the General State Budget in 2022 it will be 463.21 euros per month.
