This is the step-by-step method of the Tax Agency to present the 2021-2022 Income Statement

The most important appointment for Spanish taxpayers has arrived: as of this Wednesday, April 6, the 2021-2022 Income Campaign has been opened, which will affect millions of taxpayers. The first turn is for the presentation of the declarations through the internet, something that can already be done on the website of the Tax Agency (and on the agency’s mobile application).

The Tax Agency itself has made a document available to taxpayers in which it explains step by step how to process the Income draft in order to make the declaration correctly and thus avoid having to make subsequent modifications.

The first thing that the taxpayer must be clear about is how to access the draft of the Income. There are: with the possession of a digital certificate (), Cl@ve PIN () or with the reference number from the declaration of the previous year.

Once you have the draft of the Income, you can start processing the declaration. To do this, you must enter Renta Web, within the website of the Tax Agency and specifically in the 2021 Income section, . The taxpayer must choose the category ‘Draft/return processing service (WEB Income)’ and access with the chosen method: digital certificate, Cl@ve or reference number.

If the taxpayer accesses this service for the first time, he must ratify his tax address or modify the data that is out of date or that does not appear. Once you do, the system will send you to a new screen in which the citizen must click on ‘Draft/declaration (WEB Income)’.

In the first window Renta WEB will show the taxpayer the personal and family identification data if applicable (spouse, descendants, ascendants…). In the event that there is a previously filed or previously saved return, the system will give the taxpayer the option to load it. Be that as it may, if the taxpayer is going to make an individual taxation, they must click on the box that appears at the top of the box. When everything is complete, click ‘OK’.

At that time, the system will take you to the declaration result screen or ‘Summary of declarations’, where you can consult in a summarized and broken down manner whether the result of the declaration is negative (to be returned to the citizen) or positive ( the citizen must pay to the Treasury).

To see everything in detail, the taxpayer must know if all the necessary data is contained within the return. You can find out if you click on ‘View transferred data’, option available in the top menu. The system will tell you which data has been automatically loaded in the return and which has not. These can be entered manually by the taxpayer himself.

The declarant must pay special attention to state and regional deductions. Depending on his personal situation and his income level, he will be able to benefit from any of these deductions that can provide financial relief at the end of the declaration.

To move through the tax return, the mechanism is simple: the top menu indicates to the taxpayer the page number he is on: he can navigate between pages using the arrow commands. In addition, in the ‘Sections’ category, present in the upper left sector, you will be able to access all the sections of the declaration. There is another option to navigate through the different sections: using the magnifying glass on the top menu you can search for terms, box numbers…

When making changes or providing new data, the taxpayer must click on ‘Validate’, another of the options on the top menu. The system will warn you if there is incorrect data so that the citizen can correct it. Changes can be confirmed and saved on the ‘Save’ button, just to the right of ‘Validate’. The impact of the modifications on the Income result can be consulted by returning to the ‘Summary of declarations’ section.

How to present the income statement

If the taxpayer does not have to make any more changes, he only has to present the declaration. To do this, you must click on ‘Submit a return’, an option that appears above the result of said return. At that moment everything will depend on the result of the declaration:

-If it is a refund, the taxpayer must enter the IBAN of the account in which he wishes the Treasury to transfer the money. You also have the option of waiving the refund in favor of the Public Treasury.

-In declarations to be entered, the option of fragmented payment and by direct debit will be marked by default, although you can choose an electronic payment or a payment with a document in the box, as well as payment in a single installment by any of the previous methods.
