Although the holidays are still a week away, many Spaniards will begin their Easter holidays this Friday, April 8. And although the most important weather forecast is the one that corresponds to the days between Holy Thursday and Easter Sunday, the luckiest are also affected by the weather this week.
As we are two days away from the start of the first weekend of Easter, this week’s predictions are quite reliable. The same does not happen with the forecast for next week, still quite inaccurate, although it already allows the first predictions to be made.
Friday April 8
Starting this Wednesday the cold will leave us, leaving higher temperatures in the country. Thus, the maximum and minimum temperatures will increase in Mediterranean and Canary areas, according to data from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).
However, the arrival of an Atlantic front from the northwest on Friday will cool the atmosphere in Galicia and the Bay of Biscay, with probable mist or fog.

The front will leave precipitation that may be locally persistent in western Galicia. These will tend to remit in general, they will move to the south and east, affecting, in a weaker and more dispersed way, other areas of the northwestern third of the peninsula and the Pyrenees.
Saturday April 9
On Saturday there will be an increase in maximum temperatures on the Atlantic side and in the Canary Islands; Both in the Pyrenees and in the Mediterranean area they will decrease, while the rest of the country will not witness changes.

The clouds will extend towards areas of the peninsular northwestern half, with a tendency to decrease throughout the day. In addition to western Galicia, rainfall may occur during the morning in the Pyrenees and Girona, as well as inland areas of Extremadura, Castilla y León and Castilla-La Mancha.
Sunday April 10
Another Atlantic front will begin to approach the Galician coast, making its way through the Peninsula to the east. Although with uncertainty, rainfall will arrive that will affect the west of Galicia. It cannot be ruled out that they spread to other areas of the extreme west of the peninsula.

In the Canary Islands there will be an increase in cloud cover from the west, with the probability of precipitation on the islands with greater relief.
Except on the eastern Mediterranean coast, temperatures will rise throughout the Peninsula. These will be around 20 degrees maximum, exceeding them in the center and in the south of the peninsula.
Monday 11, Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 April
According to the AEMET, “it is very likely that a front of certain activity will slowly sweep the Peninsula these days from west to east, leaving cloudy or overcast skies in its wake and widespread rainfall, which will be more intense on Monday in areas of the western peninsular third, the Tuesday in the Pyrenees and the Strait area, and on Wednesday in areas of the eastern third”.

Along with the rains, there will be a general drop in temperatures due to the arrival of the front. In the Canary Islands there will be rainfall on Monday, while the rest of the days it will only rain in the north of the islands with the greatest relief.
Thursday April 14
For the AEMET there is no clear forecast for the Peninsula or the Balearic Islands, while in the Canary Islands “the trade wind regime will continue, with the possibility of precipitation only in the north of the islands with the greatest relief.”
According to Mar Gómez, doctor in Physics and meteorologist at eltiempo.es, Holy Thursday will be “for the time being” a “calm day, with a predominance of sun, just like Good Friday.” “Trends show us that temperatures that week could be slightly above normal.”
