NordVPN also offers many more servers than Avast and better ones that can handle more capacity. It’s also better for torrent users; while Avast offers them some features, NordVPN’s suite is a bit more reliable. NordVPN is also better at unblocking Netflix and other streaming services.

How many do Avast VPN and NordVPN cost?
When it comes to pricing, NordVPN is a much better deal compared to Avast VPN, especially on longer-term plans. For example, for two years, NordVPN charges just $89, and at the end of that period, the company offers a rate of return that is roughly the same.
Avast, on the other hand, charges $95.76 for two years of service, which is only six dollars and the change is more expensive than NordVPN, but it’s quite high when you consider all the additional features that NordVPN offers.
Going from year to year, the numbers are a little closer. But Avast is still more expensive at $59.88 compared to NordVPN’s $59. Sure, it costs less than a dollar, but for a service as basic as Avast SecureLine, it’s a bad deal.

Are NordVPN and Avast VPN easy to use?
When it comes to ease of use, Avast SecureLine VPN and NordVPN are good. Avast is more minimalist, putting a big button in the middle that turns the VPN on and off. There is a selection below for the server you want and your options in a bar to the left.
We like this style of interface because it leaves little to the imagination and is virtually foolproof.
NordVPN is a bit more elegant but follows the same basic philosophy. The big button at the top of the screen turns your connection on and off. Select servers or go to client settings via the menu at the top. There is very little difference in how these two programs operate. It’s more about location.
However, NordVPN’s interface is a bit prettier because it has a world map showing you where you’re connected to. The map is almost entirely cosmetic, but it is a useful tool for orientation. Overall, though, it’s a minor point, so we’re not going to state a strict preference for Avast VPN or NordVPN here.
Are NordVPN and Avast SecureLine private?
When it comes to privacy, both VPN and VPN promise the same thing: no logs, no data collection, and everything else that most VPN services promise. It is almost impossible to verify whether these claims are true or not. However, NordVPN submits to it every year, and Avast does not. So, in Avast’s case, you’re going with a service’s word when it comes to privacy.
So far, NordVPN’s reputation is pretty good. There was a hack in 2019 of some minor systems, but NordVPN was quick to react and make sure it didn’t happen again. Other than that, there is not much to mention against NordVPN except unsubstantiated rumours.
Avast and Jumpshot
Avast, however, is a different story. As we mentioned earlier, the company’s hand got caught in the cookie jar of customer information. Technically, it only sold the data of Avast Antivirus customers; it’s still terrible for a security company no matter how you look at it.
Although Avast has apologized and promised not to do it again, we know which one to recommend if we have to balance a company with a nearly clean record and one with a blemished one. NordVPN has our vote here.

Even privacy concerns aside, NordVPN is our favorite VPN. Although Avast is not a bad VPN, NordVPN is cheaper and has more features. Even then, we’d still be a bit wary of Avast.
