If you are a WordPress user self-hosted (.org) you can also take advantage of the new features by installing the plugin JetPack.

The interface of the new version of WordPress is simpler, more refined. It is 100% adaptable to all types of screensbeing able to write post, control access statistics or change settings easily from a PC, a tablet or a mobile.

You can add photos to your WordPress post using the technology of drag and drop saving a few clicks in the process. It will also be easier for you to share the content on the different social networks after publishing a new post.

Technically WordPress started from scratch and the hosted version is now completely separate from the core of WordPress. Now it is an interface to more easily interact with the CMS functionalities. These technical choices have made it easy to develop Mac/OSX app for WordPress. This version is encoded in javascriptbeing able to generate many calls to the API and also makes use of Node and React.

You will be able to carry out from Calypso any action that you usually carry out from the WordPress dashboard (wp-admin) such as editing posts/posts, deleting or creating new posts/posts.

Manage menus and everything related to the creation, elimination and/or modification of menus.

Activate or deactivate plugins, activate automatic updates for plugins that allow it, which will be very useful for forgetful 🙂

And any other task related to WordPress installations that you have hosted on Hosting with WordPress.org installations (self-hosted) or hosted on WordPress.com indistinctly.
