1440. Own membership site VS Patreon – .com

Today we are joined by Valentí Acconcia with whom we evaluate the pros and cons of using Patreon instead of setting up a membership site on our own website.

But first, remember that today ends with two classes in which we will see how to set up contests and raffles, as well as a review of best practices.

With Valentí we are talking about , a recurring crowdfunding platform turned into a membership site platform, which is now halfway between its origin and its future, becoming the Shopify of membership sites.

We will see its evolution, its prices, and its value proposition, to see if it is worth considering the possibility of setting up a channel on Patreon instead of a membership site. On the one hand, it greatly simplifies our lives in terms of programming, usability and billing. On the other hand, its prices (5%, 8% and 12%) are an important bite that takes part of the monthly billing, and we are at your mercy in terms of price changes, interface, and data from our community.

Is it worth opting for Patreon? Is it better to set up a membership site even though we will have to deal with hosting, WordPress and its plugins? We see it with Valentí!

Oh, and remember that you can find him at , as well as on the other side of .com, and of course, next week, on November 21 and 22, in Barcelona. I will also be there, enjoying these two days of crowdfunding.

As always, thank you very much for your five-star ratings in , in , and , subscribe to the and for being there, on the other side. Without you this would not be what it is, without you this simply would not be.
