16 luxury, ‘fashionable’ or personalized masks (and how to know if they are approved)

It was a matter of time before fashion responded creatively to COVID-19. In fact, the days were quietly counting down to see who was the first of the firms to bet on presenting their own masks with a design that goes beyond surgical aesthetics, and there have been many that have launched to make one. Very varied proposal with all kinds of prints and models.

Among the first were Marina Conde and Juan Avellaneda, who, a few days after the State of Alarm had been declared, chose to transform their entire workshop and start making masks with the material they had that could respond to sanitary requirements. Marina herself, after declaring the pandemic, posted videos on her social networks explaining how everyone could make their own model. In addition, her commitment led her to donate the same number of masks that were bought for her through her online channel.

Moisés Nieto, Maya Hansen, JC Pajares or Fernando Claro have been other Spanish names who have also wanted to do their bit in the fight against the Coronavirus. Outside our borders we have also found various more or less elaborate proposals, which opt for personalizing with our own style the accessory that seems to become essential this summer.

From the already popular ones by Marine Serre (who even went so far as to present them on the catwalk), to Off-White or Christian Siriano, to the more niche ones from smaller firms such as Akese Stylelines or Lirika Matoshi, the offer is varied and for practically all styles, from the most extravagant to the most minimalist that seek to go unnoticed. Do you find yours?

The designer Moisés Nieto leads together with his partner, Valerio Canals, this firm that provides the Andalusian designer’s vision of men’s fashion. He has been one of those who has been able to respond to this demand the fastest and has presented this design that is sold for €25 in his online store. Two masks are sent.

Fernando Claro

It has become one of the most popular, given the large number of people that one can find today on social networks wearing one of the designs by this Spanish creator. They also have a solidarity component since they donate 5% of their price.

Approved personalized masks

The current interest in masks has caused the techniques and designs for their manufacture to skyrocket. During the first period of confinement, getting a mask (especially in big cities) became an impossible mission, since pharmacies were completely out of supplies of this product. Faced with this situation, many individuals and companies chose to make their own masks to get out of trouble. A technique that has become so popular that today we find hundreds of types of personalized masks, with drawings and materials of all kinds, for sale. But how do we know if it is approved?
