31. Cleoveo with Cristina Aparicio

Today with Cristina we start “The week of the entrepreneur”, we talk about the turns that life takes and doing what you really like.

The program with Cristina is very interesting, and the conversion she has made. For many years she was self-employed, but without taking the risk of starting a business since she worked for a company.

We will see how two years ago, when his son was born, he decided to change his work. She suffered the so-called “baby effect”: having a child made her radically rethink her future career, and how he had the full support of his family to leave behind his work past and start a new project:.

We also talked about how business ideas come about, in this case because she didn’t like the baby clothes on the market, so she focused her project on creating alternative, beautiful and functional designs. And after thinking long and hard about what product she wanted to launch, she started with a reversible and unisex jumpsuit, for boys and girls.

A very interesting point is how he made the first patterns using his son as a model, and how he took advantage of his knowledge of architectural design to create the patterns for the garments and to make the technical sheets, he used the same program with which he designed homes.

And as a personal note, we will see how listening to my podcast, in which listeners were challenged to launch their own podcast explaining their experience as entrepreneurs and dared to do so. This is how he started with his podcast, “Today I don’t sleep either”, which has helped him grow as a brand and as a person and in which he explains the day-to-day of his entrepreneurial adventure.

You’ll also admit to mistakes, such as the fact that you didn’t have a business plan to begin with. He was carried away by his heart and, although he has not done badly, he admits that he would have done better if he had trained earlier. In fact, he admits that he may have rushed to open it, but he doesn’t regret it: maybe if he had thought about it too much he would never have started 🙂

In short, an interview in which we will learn the importance of not giving up, of taking advantage of our strengths, and of knowing what to outsource, without trying to do “everything” ourselves 🙂
