This is how the best laptop brands are, according to the OCU: a European sneaks into the battle of the US and China

Telecommuting and the impulse of new technologies has led to a greater demand for laptops. With an increasing presence in Spanish homes, over desktop computers or tablets, due to its easy transport and its very good features, the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) has decided based on customer satisfaction and its reliability.

In the middle of 2021 it is difficult to think of a home where there is not at least one laptop. Whether for private consumption or for work, the two cases where they are most used, more and more large companies are launching themselves into the sector of this type of computer.

And it is that its easy transport together with the durability of the battery, for most of the key users in the face of the final satisfaction with the product, makes them more affordable than desktop computers. Also its greater power and functions than tablets or mobiles, making it an essential product for today’s society (80% of those surveyed have one).

The four best-selling brands in Spain do not have a presence among the first five positions in the ranking

However, facing its biggest problems, the OCU highlights that the most repeated complaints among consumers affect the hard drive, the power supply or the power cable, in addition to the battery. Of course, with a very good grade, in general, regarding satisfaction, the greatest positive point is the durability of more than 4 years.

But going into what brands are concerned, HP, Lenovo, Asus and Acer are the most demanded by the Spanish but none of the four manages to sneak into the five with the best rating. A classification that dominates the United States vs. China war… but with a European participant somewhat unknown to the Spanish market.

Medion challenges Apple, Huawei or Xiaomi

Medion, of German origin and specialized in home technology, is the fourth firm par excellence. With a rating of 78 out of 100, by consumers, the satisfaction of this company that is taxed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange is four out of five stars. In addition to laptops, Medion also manufactures and distributes home appliances under the Tevion brand.

A company that is behind three great technological giants. With a growing presence beyond mobile phones, Huawei and Xiaomi put an Asian accent on this ranking with 81 and 78 satisfaction ratings and four and five stars for reliability, respectively. However, both are overtaken by Apple, the king of laptops and whose annual launch is as big an event as a sports final.

Microsoft closes the first five positions showing the tie between American and Chinese companies

With 83 out of 100 customer satisfaction and five out of five stars for reliability, the North American company created by Steve Jobs has no rival in this sector. Without determining the percentage of purchases with respect to other brands, the OCU highlights the apple company’s great difference with respect to other firms, boosted by the excellent quality offered by its products.

And finally, Microsoft closes the first five positions (77 and four stars, respectively in the indicated categories) confirming that the US continues in the highest positions in terms of technology. Of course, already in a constant war with China to offer the best products, the German Medion can only cast a shadow over both of them when it comes to better brands.
