And the avant-garde design became a motorcycle: this is the Aston Martin AMB 001

The Aston Martin and Brough Superior AMB 001 has made its world debut at EICMA, the Milan Motorcycle Show. Strictly limited to just 100 models, the AMB 001 represents the union of Aston Martin’s iconic design and Brough’s cutting-edge engineering to create a piece of automotive art aimed at motorcycle enthusiasts. RRP: €108,000

With the AMB 001, Aston Martin and Brough Superior present a concept of a modern, light and powerful sports car with exclusive technical features, including a double wishbone front fork chassis configuration and carbon fiber structural shell. Taking inspiration from the new series of mid-engined Aston Martin cars, the Aston Martin design team worked on strong concepts of form and function, where design and engineering were brought together, resulting in a motorcycle that is a high performance artwork.

Presented in the traditional Aston Martin Racing colors of Stirling Green and Lime Essence with matte black wheels, forks and brake assemblies, the AMB 001 features a sublime combination of paint and carbon fiber that accentuates the lines of this collector’s item. . As befits the Aston Martin and Brough Superior brands, all components have been specially designed using the best processes and materials, including carbon fibre, titanium and aluminium.

Beauty and power are the order of the day

The bike features robust, sculptural bodywork, wonderfully accented by a carbon fiber fin – whose design is derived from the side stay on Aston Martin cars – which runs the full length of the Stirling Green tank, running under the saddle and out back, creating a flowing shape along the top of the bike. As the fin passes under the saddle, it can be seen along the Oxford leather temples of the hand-stitched frame, which combines the oldest techniques and modern technology in a single part that fits perfectly with the frame. silhouette of the human being

The AMB 001 has been designed to exhibit a new level of elegance not normally found on race bikes. Beauty and power are the order of the day for this track athlete. Aerodynamic wings attached to the cowl at the front of the motorcycle take their direction from the S-curve at the front of an Aston Martin, providing a thrusting aerodynamic effect.

The AMB 001 has a turbocharged power of 134 kW (180 hp) with only 180 kg of weight. This turbo setup provides incredible engine response with very high torque across a wide range of engine revs. It is also the first time that a Brough Superior model has been offered with a V-twin turbocharged engine.

In keeping with its racing-inspired styling, the AMB 001 is presented with ultralight Aston Martin wings, which sit under the bodywork lacquer on the nose and tank. These are the same nine-micron stainless steel wings that grace the Aston Martin Valkyrie.

“Aston Martin may be over 100 years old, but the drive of this company is inspiring, for all areas of the business, but design in particular,” said Aston Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer Reichman. “The same professionals who work on the design of our cars have worked on the AMB 001. They are absolute experts and have delivered many of the special project cars that we have designed. Unlike other car companies, our designers have all the experience and I believe this shows in this desired motorcycle.”

The AMB 001 is being built and assembled by hand at the Brough Superior factory in Toulouse, France. Only 100 models will be made, with a value of €108,000 including 20% VAT. The first deliveries will begin from the fourth quarter of 2020.
