If, for example, right now your website suddenly presents a serious error on the front end due to an update that makes it not display correctly or you have accidentally made a change that you shouldn’t have and lost a lot of information… could you go back?
We always think that this only happens to the “bad guys” and it will never happen to me.
I’ve heard this a hundred times…until it happens. I could even tell you that more than the majority have never done something as basic as a backup or backup wordpress of your website, that’s why I want you to answer me honestly, is your website safe?
Whether you have one or you’ve never done it before, you’re in luck! Today I have decided to share with you this delicate topic so that you do not panic or become nervous if your website does not load right now.

What is a backup or security copy?
Security copies or backups are compressed files that have the date of the moment they are created marked and information is stored in them like a trunk.
To simplify it, you should know two main types of copies: those you make of a specific website and those of your WePanel Hosting panel.
The difference is that the first one only contains the information of your website, they are easy to restore at any time and they weigh less space.
While the second are copies that save all the information of all your Hosting, its size is obviously much larger and, in general, they are not comfortable to restore a specific website but rather to recover the entire Hosting account as if it were a block. .
5 reasons why you should do a WordPress Backup
- 1. If your website presents a serious error that prevents its loading and you have already tried trying to revive it by all means and it has been impossible, a backup can be your best ally.
- 2. CMS such as WordPress, Joomla or Prestashop are updated quite frequently, both their core and their plugins. Because of this, it is not uncommon for when updating they stop working or present an error that prevents you from working With your website, think that we are all human and we can make mistakes when putting out a new version of something.

How can I make a copy of my WordPress site?
On WordPress sites you can make a backup by using free or paid plugins. The mission of these plugins is to save all the files and the database in a compressed file.
Before making a backup you have to make sure that you still have free space in your Hosting account, otherwise the copy cannot be generated or created incompletely.
From your Hosting panel WePanel you have a block called statisticsin the look at the section disk usage. That is the space you are currently consuming.
A very good trick is to think that your website is going to occupy twice the space, so if you have only one website and the result is 300 mbs, you know that you will need at least that free space in your account.
In the event that you have several web pages in that case I recommend you go from your WePanelgo to the block Records and click on disk usage and through the trees, discover which web has the largest size.
Remember that at we can temporarily extend your Hosting quota in the event that you need to make a copy and you do not have enough space.

It is a very easy plugin to use, and a notable advantage is that its free version does not limit the size of the copy that can be restored.

Once you have generated the backup with one of these plugins, do not forget to download it to your device/computer and delete it so that it does not occupy space in your Hosting account in vain, the one who hires the most does not have more space, but who knows how to save it and use what is fair!
- If you only have one website in your Hosting click directly on the blue button Restore the entire /public_html.
- If you have more than one website you will have to use the search engine. In it, put the path you previously copied from Stephan. Specifically, you have to copy only from public_html onwards, that is, following the example from before you must write only this: public_html/rx2r.com and click on Search! Finally, click on Restore.

How can I restore my WordPress to an earlier time?
When we talk about restoring a WordPress, Prestashop or Joomla site, you have to know that your website is made up of two ingredients: the files of your website and one database which is where all the information on your website is stored.
To restore it to an earlier time you have to restore these two items. I’ll teach you how to do it with the tool super backup.
The first thing you have to do is know in which route within your Hosting the web is installed and what is its database to restore it. For this you can consult our technological partner Stephan from your client area, Hosting tab and click on Virtual Assistant Stephan.
In it, you have a block depending on which website you want to restore. In our case we are going to restore a WordPress website so a block called WordPress installed and in it we will click on more details.
Of all the data that Stephan gives us, you should keep two: the directory and the one of database. Write them down on a piece of paper or notepad, you will need it a little later.
Next you have to go to your client areatab hosting and click on super backup.
Now you must select the Hosting account where the website you want to restore is located.
In the calendar, left click on the day you want to restore your website. When you do, a confirmation window will appear. After accepting it, you will see that it is placed in red. Click on the “Select” button.
Finally, from the tab partial restoration you have to restore the WordPress installation files. Here you can generally have three cases:

How can I restore an email account?
If you need to recover any email that you had in your Hosting account, you can restore the email account to that day. For this go to your client areatab hosting and click on super backup.
Now select the Hosting account where the email account you want to restore is located.
