CCOO calls a strike on Auto Res (Avanza) buses for December 24, 26 and 31 and January 2

The CCOO has called a general strike at the Auto Res bus company, belonging to Grupo Avanza (of the Mexican conglomerate Mobilityado), for December 24, 26 and 31 and January 2, defending that the company has not yet recovered the pre-pandemic services.

The union points out that Auto Res currently maintains an ERTE that it believes is “unnecessary” and that it has led several towns in provinces such as Orense, Vigo, Zamora, Salamanca, Cáceres, Badajoz, Cuenca or Valencia, among others, to have seen reduced or suppressed its services.

For this reason, the Road and Logistics sector of Comisiones Obreras has appealed to the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda to intervene and force the company to recover all the services that were offered before Covid-19.

“The non-existent service that Auto Res does not provide leaves an indeterminate number of people every day without the only means of public mobility available to them, affecting numerous populations throughout the entire geography of the State. This manifest attitude of neglect on the part of the administration to the users and their populations does more if possible the game to the company, resulting in the abandonment of the entire rural population, and of this company to its workers,” the union said in a statement.
