Cementos Molins grows in precast with Pretersa Prenavisa

On the verge of ending 2021, Cementos Molins has signed its fifth acquisition of the year with the purchase of 100% of the Aragonese Pretersa Prenavisa, owned by the European investment group Kartesia and specialized in precast concrete structures.

With this operation, the Catalan multinational cement group will accelerate its growth in precast concrete solutions in Spain, France and Portugal, and in the national territory it will do so through its subsidiary Precon, focused on this business segment.

For 70 years, Precon has been designing, producing and installing a wide range of prefabricated solutions for the construction of buildings in general, public works and railway lines, and has ten factories located throughout the entire Spanish geography.

56 million business

Pretersa Prenavisa, founded more than 30 years ago and headquartered in Teruel, has modern factories in Teruel, Jaén and Segovia, and serves clients in Spain, France and Portugal, with 770 employees and a turnover of 56 million euros. in 2020, which will be integrated into Cementos Molins.

For Julio Rodríguez, CEO of Cementos Molins, this operation strengthens its business in Spain and “creates a very significant potential for synergies with the rest of the company’s operations.”

This fifth acquisition announced by Cementos Molins in 2021 adds to the takeover of Escofet, a benchmark in architectural concrete and urban spaces; the purchase of a white cement facility in Spain from the Çimsa group; the acquisition of Calucem, the world’s second largest producer of calcium aluminate cement (CAC), and the purchase agreement for the aggregate and concrete business in Catalonia from Hanson Hispania.

In total, the operations carried out in 2021 represent an investment of more than 230 million euros. On this occasion, Cementos Molins has had Garrigues as legal advisor, EY as due diligence advisor, and Marsh as broker and insurance advisor.
