Change comma to period when using Mac numeric keypad

Some programs allow you to change the setting so that it accepts commas instead of periods when you type numeric values. But obviously this is not going to help you with the code.

Another option would be to configure MacOS to tell it to use another keyboard layout, but it will annoy you because it will change many keys for you. Sometimes it is better to have the keyboard in English to save yourself trouble writing code.

But the solution that you will surely like is to simply use the following keys:

CTRL + SHIFT + “numpad comma” = period

In other words, it’s about touching a key combination, a bit annoying, but useful when you want a point to appear instead of a comma.
