Create a landing page with GeneratePress – .com

In this tutorial we are going to see how to create a landing page in GeneratePress by hiding the header and footer that appear on the rest of the web.

GeneratePress Features

GeneratePress is a light, fast and responsive theme, compatible with well-known plugins such as , , or .

It has 9 widget areas, several positions for the navigation menu, 5 layouts for the sidebar, and some other features that make it very versatile. It is a template that offers many customization optionseven more so if we install its premium version.

In this case we are going to see one of these options, which makes it easier for us to create a landing type page, without a header or footer. Let’s see it!

Adjustments in pages and posts

We will start from a website with the free version of GeneratePress installed and activated, which you can find in WordPress.

To hide both the header and the footer on any page or post on our site, we must also have the premium version of GeneratePress installed and activated, since the free version only allows us to hide the title of the content.

The premium version of the theme comes in plugin format. If you don’t have it, you can purchase it from the official page of or, if you are subscribers, access the plugin from the “Downloads” tab of the . Also this, as you know, will give you access to all the , including the one that can be very useful if you work with this template.

Well, once we have the compressed file on the computer, we access the WordPress desktop, “Plugins/Add new/Upload plugin”, we select it and, as always, we install and activate it.

When we have it ready, we go to “Appearance / GeneratePress”. On this screen we will find a breakdown of the extra modules that we have available with the installation of the premium version.

By default they are all deactivated, so we are going to activate the one that interests us, in this case “Disable Elements”. To do this we will simply click on the “Activate” button that appears next to it.

Perfect, now yes, we are going to open the post or page that we want to modify in editing mode. Below the content of the same should appear a section that says “Screen layout”. Disable header and footer on page with GeneratePress
