As shown by data from , the organization that manages the electricity markets of Spain and Portugal and collects their rates, the average price of electricity in Spain this Saturday, March 12, is 246.05 euros/MWh. Very high figures when compared to the price set a year ago, when the MWh cost 28.9 euros.

Regarding the daily variation, as usual on weekends, the ‘cheapest’ section is concentrated around the afternoon, until settling at 195.15 euros/MWh in the section between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. :00.
At what time is electricity more expensive?
On the contrary, as night falls, the price rises to 292.91 euros/MWh (between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.).

Why does the price of electricity vary so much?
This constant increase in prices, as well as its variation, is due to the higher cost of gas in international markets, which is used in combined cycle plants. As these are the most expensive, they are the ones that, in general, mark the price in most hours.
