Elon Musk’s theory about the creator of bitcoin: Nonsense or something plausible?

The history of the beginning of bitcoin is linked to many unknowns. The main one, who is its founder or founders, who has always used the pseudonym .

Well, Elon Musk, in his usual garrulous tone in , seems to have found a certain theory. He shared on his favorite social network an image that indicated that if you take the first letters of the four big electronics giants Samsung, Toshiba, Nakamichi and Motorola, you end up with the name “Satoshi Nakamoto”.

The image actually comes from a who in a 2017 post took this a step further joking with the idea that and these companies.

But beyond this half-joke – you never know when Musk is actually joking or not – the Tesla co-founder has other theories closer to what it could be.

Musk’s thoughts on the bitcoin creator

In late 2021, Musk floated the idea that Nick Szabo, a computer scientist who pioneered smart contracts in the mid-2000s and laid the foundation for digital currencies, is “probably” the creator of bitcoin. He did so in an interview with MIT researcher and broadcaster Lex Fridman. Szabo, however, denied in 2017 that he is the real Satoshi.

The mystery of the identity of the elusive bitcoin creator was also the subject of a court case in November 2021, when the family of the late David Kleinman sued Australian programmer Craig Wright, who has become famous for claiming, almost certainly without foundation, that he is the true Satoshi.

Although we will probably never know for sure, the photo shared by Musk may be an example that, at one point, a programmer needed an alias and did so by taking those of these electronic giants.
