I am not going to deny that to write this article, which I wanted, few people talk about free themes for Moodle, why? Basically because most of them are sad, yes pity! As terrifying as they are, they remind me of the websites of the 90s, they have not evolved at all. I suppose that the majority of students who study in these virtual centers will fail or miss class just out of boredom of studying trapped between the 4 bland and graceless lines of their topic… puff!!
I spent a week dedicated, (at times of course), to searching the Internet for attractive themes for Moodle and came to the conclusion that the free ones “are mostly” a disaster, and the good ones are paid (commercial) and of the good ones, the best (commercial) are those of Best Digital Themes and of ThemeForestWithout a doubt, if you don’t believe it, open your browser and search for those names.
in the end i found 3 free themes for Moodlewhich are responsive, that is, they adapt correctly to any device, and have a pleasant, elegant and modern design.
Academy
Academi is a responsive Moodle theme compatible with the latest versions, powered by Cross Browser (looks the same in any browser), which has an image slider on the main page, with the option to customize CSS, customize menus and logo, and which makes use of scalable icons from Font Awesome.
