Grupo Gallo will stop production at its factory in El Carpio (Córdoba) in 48 hours, where it makes dry pasta, if the transport strike persists, company sources have informed elEconomista, which currently operates normally at its three plants. Catalans.

The Cordoba plant has been unable to serve pasta for nine days and the warehouse is already at its capacity limit, so if it cannot distribute product in 48 hours, it will have to temporarily stop production.

Since the beginning of the protest, Grupo Gallo has maintained its normal activity in all plants and has reorganized its logistics to be able to assume the storage of pasta production, but it has already run out of room for action, it has stated in a statement this Wednesday.

Given this context, Grupo Gallo warns of the real risk of shortages of pasta in the short term at the point of sale if the current situation persists, and highlights the situation that the shelves of the main supermarket chains already present.

Likewise, the company considers it urgent that the agents involved find an immediate solution to avoid the lack of supply of basic consumer goods in the shopping basket and in Spanish households such as pasta, flour and breadcrumbs.

In this sense, Grupo Gallo appeals to the responsibility of all the parties concerned and demands the construction of the dialogue framework necessary to reach an agreement that allows normality to be restored and avoid major consequences that structurally affect industrial activity.

In addition to the dry pasta produced by El Carpio, Gallo manufactures the fresh, pasta and lasagna division in Granollers; in Asparraguera gluten-free pasta and varieties of legumes, and in Sant Vicenç dels Horts oriental products from the Ta-Tung line.

Pastas Gallo, which celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2021, has established itself in the Spanish market as the leading brand in the dry pasta, sauces and flour market as the only national manufacturer, with a market share of close to 35% in pasta dry, 29% in sauces and 16% in flour.
