Holaluz will finance the installation of solar panels on the roofs of its clients

The green energy technology Holaluz launches a financing campaign to attract customers willing to install solar panels on rooftops and bring renewable energy generation to the market.

To this end, the company will invest 80 million euros over the next four years in promotional and marketing campaigns, with the aim of increasing the number of new users and reaching one million subscribers in 2023, compared to the current close to 240,000, and 50,000 photovoltaic installations.

The executive president of the company, Carlota Pi, explained that if all the rooftops in Spain were used, the generation of renewable energy would double. It has been supported by data from Red Eléctrica de España, according to which, in 2019, the generation of renewable energy sources stood at 39.3% of the total market, and if all the square meters of unused roofs are added and available in Spain would add an additional 42%, totaling 81.3% in the country.

Users who choose to form part of the energy generation network will contract the service for a period of 15 years -without deficiencies or permanence periods- and will obtain savings in the cost of their electricity bill of the order of 20% per month. Meanwhile, Holaluz will be the one who will assume the financing of the new facilities -which on average have a cost of between 5,000 and 10,000 euros- under advantageous conditions “that we are still negotiating”, Carlota Pi specified at a press conference. In this way, customers will not have to pay any capital.

The facility, owned by Holaluz, will pass to the client’s name after 15 years, when the facility reaches savings rates of up to 63% on the monthly bill, according to company calculations.

In a first phase, the plan will be developed for the terraces for private use, to continue with the community roofs, to finally cover the primary sector and promote the unused areas of companies and the service sector.

The firm leaves the door open to customers who currently have facilities for self-consumption to project their expansion and access new contracts.

According to the company, the renewable energy sector is in a moment of optimism. Sustainable consumption trends and government commitments to the energy transition make a renewable energy sector an asset for growth. In Spain, it is translated into the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan, which proposes that by 2030 renewables provide 42% of final energy and 74% of electricity. These objectives have become even more relevant with the recent Royal Decree-law approved this week by the Council of Ministers, which envisions a country sustaining 100% renewable energy before the year 2050.
