How is a website inside

We approach a web page from within, that is, we analyze how they are made internally.

We see a web page in our browser, or web client, and it looks like a single entity, but it is not, it is made up of a multitude of different files, such as images, possible videos and most importantly, the source code that says where to place each text, each image or each video and the way they will have when placed on the page. It is not a problem that the websites are made up of so many elements, since we will quickly see that their organization is easy and that none of them will be lost or escaped.

As we have been able to imagine and as a summary, to publish on the Internet we will need to build some hypertext or hypermedia documents, with their corresponding image or video files and place them on computers that are web page servers. But this is something that we are going to try to explain little by little in the following chapters.

Although it means anticipating events, it is interesting to note that with a simple action we can see the source code of the pages, that is, how they are made on the inside. To do this, in Internet Explorer you have to click on the View Source Code menu and in Firefox you have to select View Page Source Code.

Once we activate the menu to see the source code of the page, a window will open with a lot of text that will surely be difficult for us to understand at first glance. It doesn’t matter that we don’t understand anything, but we can see that a web page “inside” is a text with code. Over time you will learn to write that code yourself, although you may want to forget about the complications of writing code and use a program to generate it for you, which is another perfectly valid possibility.
