How much to charge for website maintenance

Well, you can charge whatever you want!… Seriously, I’ve seen such a variety of prices for maintenance, I don’t think there is a standard, but it depends on each company that offers the service.

I think, to be fair, you would need to seriously estimate how long the updates will take. If it says that you have to incorporate new pages every 3 months, then think about the time it would take you to create that page, link it, upload it to the server, etc. Calculate the hours quarterly, always above so as not to fall short, and then multiply by four to find out the price you can give per year. Add a few extra hours in case it asks you to change another piece of information on the web or a photo.

In any case, specify in a contract or in the maintenance budget what this maintenance includes, saying what things can be done with the annual cost and what things should be billed apart from that maintenance contract. This way the client will not have any confusion and you will not be forced to work more than you had planned.

I don’t know much to tell you about specific prices, because it totally depends on the project you are undertaking and the updating tasks it may have, the creative cost, writing cost, optimization of photos and images, etc.
