One of the most common problems when managing any of the unemployment benefits covered by the SEPE (Public State Employment Service) is the enormous effort involved in obtaining an appointment in advance to receive care at the agency’s offices, something what can be done . Then the citizen has to enter all the personal data requested by the system. This includes the name and surnames, the expiration date of the DNI, the name of the father and mother and an account number to direct the unemployment payment or the subsidy if it is finally granted.
The next thing is to fill in the contact data field. At this point you must enter the address, province, town and postal code of residence of the applicant for the benefit, as well as a telephone number and an email address.
Once the personal data has been filled in, information on the spouse or other parent must be added when there are children in common in the family unit, in addition to the information on each of those children. In all cases you must add the DNI or NIE and the name and surnames, in the children the date of birth is requested and in the case of the spouse if there is or is not a marriage bond.
The SEPE also provides a space with observations in which the applicant, if he wishes, can make those he considers pertinent. When everything is complete, you will need to go through the security check and click ‘Submit Request’ to complete the process.
How long does the SEPE take to grant or deny unemployment or subsidy
The SEPE indicates that, if necessary, it will contact the applicant to request additional information. Also that, after the pertinent verifications, it will dictate the corresponding resolution. Until then, the citizen will have to wait.
The SEPE, in any case, will not take too long to respond. The period available from receiving the citizen’s pre-application is 15 days. After that time, you have another 10 to communicate the decision to the applicant. In total, if three months go by without any news from the SEPE, the unemployment benefit will be understood to be denied due to administrative silence from the agency.
