How to convert tabs to spaces in Visual Studio Code?

You have the control to make this transformation at the bottom of the editor, in the footer. Look for a blue band located where you can adjust the indentation settings of your document. Normally, the configured indentation name is displayed – something like “Spaces: 2” or “Tab Size: 2”.

To make the transformation, follow these steps:

1. Click on the indentation configuration label.
2. A menu will appear with several options.
3. Among these options, you’ll find the ones that allow you to convert tabs to spaces or vice versa.
4. In English, it is labeled as “Convert indentation to spaces” or “Convert indentation to tabs”.
5. Simply select the appropriate option for your needs, and the transformation will be applied.
