How to create an SSH tunnel with putty

There are many articles on tunneling, but this time we will show you how to create an SSH tunnel with PuTTY. In this tutorial we will show you step by step what you should do:

Step 1 – Load the gateway

The first thing you need to do, if you haven’t already, is to create and save a server SSH gateway, just like you would with any other platform.

Now go to the list Saved session and select load as seen in the image below:

Step 2 – Configure the SSH Tunnel

In the navigation tree on the left you must select Connection > SSH > Tunnels. Enter the port you want to connect locally to a “source port” (source port). Now add the destination address (the server that is available from your SSH port, but not on your local machine) as “Destination” (destination), as shown in the following image:

Step 3 – Open the SSH tunnel

Select the option “Add” (Add), which will insert the configuration as shown in the following image:

Finally, click “Open” to connect to your door. Sign in as you normally would. Now, as long as you leave the SSH terminal open, all traffic from the ‘Source Port’ (source port) of your localhost will be sent toDestination” (destiny). If the destination port provides a web service, you can open a browser tab and visit (in this example), as you will see in the destination server service.
