How to install and configure AMP in WordPress? –

How to validate if an AMP page is correct?

Of course, after installing and configuring an AMP plugin in WordPress, you’ll want to check that it works and that AMP pages are generated correctly.

One way, the most obvious, is to enter the web address of the AMP page (i.e. ending in “/amp/”) and check that it is displayed correctly in the browser, with all the important information and functionality of the original web page. .

However, what looks fine visually may have internal errors in the AMP page encoding that negatively affect when Google crawls and indexes that page.

Through the AMP option of the google search consolewe can see which AMP pages have any errors, to identify and correct them, as shown in the following image.

However, this method forces us to wait for Google to crawl, analyze and index that page. The wait is usually not too long, but it is not immediate either; it could even take days to index all the AMP pages of the website or the one we are interested in reviewing.

In order not to have to wait for this time, we can install the extension in the Chrome browser “AMP Validator”which adds a symbol (similar to a lightning bolt) to the icon bar.

When you access an AMP page, this symbol can take on two colors: green, to indicate that there is no AMP error; or red, when it has detected one or more errors.

In this case, it also shows you what errors it has detected and their location within the file of that AMP page.
