In Joomla you can create “Custom HTML” modules for example that contain linked images and publish them within the available positions of your theme. So far nothing new and I suppose you know it .)
In Joomla you can create Galleries (there are many extensions for this) to which you can then link links (links) coming, for example, from images of the modules that I mentioned earlier, so that an image of one of the modules lands in a certain gallery, let’s say for example “Basketball Sports Event in Arucas 06/27/2016” (an example.
You will have to have a specific gallery for that event (and all the necessary ones) so that you can link each module to the corresponding gallery.
So the question is more about determining what type of extension for galleries you use or plan to use than in the modules (which is an easier task to perform).
