Many procedures related to Social Security can be done electronically and without leaving home. It is the usual trend not only in this body, but throughout the Administration. However, it is a modality in which not all citizens feel comfortable, since there are groups with difficulties in accessing the internet or with problems obtaining it, such as, for example, the elderly.
In these situations, there is always the option of going to one of the Social Security offices to receive face-to-face and personalized attention, although the agency requires a prior appointment if you want to go to them to resolve doubts or procedures of all kinds: pensions , Minimum Living Income.
Social Security itself reminds you periodically through its official channels. This time it has been in his, in which he has published an informative guide with all the necessary steps to make an appointment at any of his offices.
There are two ways to request an appointment at Social Security: online (either through its website or the ‘Your Social Security’ portal) and by phone:
Request an appointment at Social Security online
-The first option is to do it through the ‘Your Social Security’ procedure platform (), although for this you must have a digital certificate (), Cl@ve (), electronic DNI or carry out the procedure via SMS if ha in the agency’s database.
-The second option, more affordable, is to do it through the Social Security Electronic Headquarters. The interested citizen has at his disposal different options for requesting an appointment, with or without a digital certificate and depending on the procedure to be carried out at the agency’s office.
If the option without digital certificate is chosen, the citizen must indicate their DNI or NIE, their name and surnames, a mobile phone number or an email address. With these data, you must choose between the first appointment available in your postal code, the first appointment available in your autonomous community or an appointment in an office, date and time of your own choosing.
In the latter case, you must select the type of appointment you want: application for pensions, Minimum Vital Income, other benefits or digital certificate or Cl@ve. When the option is chosen, the citizen will be given the option of choosing an office, date and time for face-to-face attention. Once chosen, an identification number will be given to be able to consult, modify or cancel that previous appointment.
Request an appointment at Social Security by phone
The citizen has the possibility to do so on the telephone numbers 91 541 25 30 or 901 10 65 70. The operation is simple: the applicant must respond verbally or by pressing the telephone keys to the questions that will be asked by an electronic recording.
You must indicate the procedure you wish to carry out, the postal code and the DNI or NIE. The system will propose the first available appointment, but if it is not to the citizen’s liking, they can choose a different one. When the prior appointment has been obtained, the system will provide a locator to be able to modify or cancel the prior appointment later if necessary.
