How to retire early at age 60 with the full pension: this is how to achieve it

One of the problems faced by workers who wish to retire early is the cut they have to accept in the future pensions they will receive. It is a circumstance that must be dealt with in general, although there are some exceptions in which, with a specific working time, these reductions can be avoided and early retirement can be achieved even from the age of 60.

The response in the Passive Class Regime of the State, which includes a variety of groups of workers ranging from former presidents, former vice presidents and former ministers of the Government to career officials and interns of the State Administration, Justice, from the Cortes Generales and other constitutional and state bodies transferred to the Autonomous Communities, passing through career soldiers, from the Complement Scales, from troop and professional seamanship, the Knights Cadets, Students, Aspirants from the Military Schools and Academies.

Currently, these general professions currently collect more than 660,000 pensions each month in Spain, according to the .

For workers who have not yet retired, a horizon opens up in which, if they wish, they can anticipate that retirement without losing a single cent of the amount, that is, without cuts in the pension. This can be achieved even from 60 years of age.

How to retire early at age 60

The reason is the special regulation of these pensions. The Passive Class regulations establish that a worker who belongs to the regime can retire early from the age of 60, provided that he accredits 30 years of “effective service to the State”. In calculating this time, however, contributions made under other schemes cannot be included. Or what is the same: only contributions within the Passive Class regime will be counted.

Thus, for workers who, after having belonged to the General Scheme or to the Special Scheme for Self-Employed Workers (RETA) and were subsequently included in the Passive Classes and reached the age of 60 with 30 years of contributions combining all concepts, could not retire from early at that age and would have to submit to the general regulation of early retirement.

How to avoid retirement pension cuts

Although a worker from the Passive Classes can retire early at age 60 with 30 years of contributions, in order to collect 100% of the pension they will need a total of 35 years of contributions. Everything is due to the regulations of this regime, which contemplates the right to different percentages of the regulatory credit (a special version of the regulatory base) of the worker based on those years of effective service to the State.

Thus, if a worker began his career in the Passive Class Regime at the age of 25 and, after 35 years of career, decided to end his professional career and retire early, he could do so at those 60 years with the 100 % of your regulatory credit. In the case of the staff of the General Courts, it may even be earlier: they will be able to retire with 100% of the pension at the time they prove those 35 years of effective service to the State.

The amount of the pension, in any case, will depend on the professional group or subgroup to which that worker belongs. Each of these groups has a regulatory asset that is the same for everyone integrated into it: it does not depend on the prices. It is on this amount that the percentages must be made at the time of retirement. Social Security classified by groups and subgroups within each of the Administrations.
