Income 2018 – 2019 | Calendar and key dates for the Declaration: from Friday the fiscal data will be available

Starting this Friday, the Tax Agency will make tax data and the updated ‘app’ available to taxpayers, which will have improvements, for the , which will begin on April 2 and will last until July 1, as published today. he .

Taxpayers who prefer that the Tax Agency be the one to call them to file their return, can make an appointment in advance as of April 1, online and by phone, while those who opt for in-person filing may do so from of May 14.

The Ministry of Finance has decided on paper because these documents sometimes generated duplication of presentation that later had to be debugged and could generate delays in the case of income with a result to be returned.

Specifically, this year the possibility of obtaining the declaration and its corresponding deposit or return documents on printed paper generated through the AEAT draft/declaration processing service disappears.

Until now, taxpayers could make their declaration through the AEAT digital platform and download the completed declaration form before confirming it, so that the data was already registered and included in the Tax Administration database.

In some cases, taxpayers could be confused by thinking that they had made the declaration, when they did not confirm it, and on other occasions, taxpayers who opted for this option proceeded to print the tax form with the result in order to consult it with their advisor or their entity. financial. This generated duplication and delays because on some occasions the advisor or the bank also presented it.

Instead, the declaration must be submitted electronically via the Internet, at the electronic headquarters of the AEAT, by telephone, or at the AEAT offices prior to requesting an appointment, as well as at the offices set up by the communities. autonomous communities, cities with a Statute of Autonomy and local entities for the confirmation of the draft declaration.

If the declaration were to be entered, the taxpayer may domicile the income, enter obtaining a complete reference number (NRC) from their bank or they may make the payment through a document for entry in a collaborating entity that they must print and proceed to make said entry.

The taxpayer will be able to print, as in previous years, a preview of his draft

In any case, the taxpayer will be able to print, as in previous years, a preview of his draft, if what he wants is to check in physical format before presenting, AEAT sources have specified. Of course, this impression of the preview will not serve for the physical presentation.

The organization recalls that in 2014 statements ‘by pen’ were already eliminated, in a context of a gradual increase in statements over the Internet, which was later reinforced by the creation of Renta Web or the advancement of assistance services. , among others.

In fact, the last campaign closed with an 87% percentage of Internet filings with respect to the total income filings, when at the beginning of the current decade the percentage did not reach 50%.

This evolution has also meant an acceleration of the presentations in the first third of the campaign, which corresponds to the remote presentation. Last year, in this period, 776,000 more declarations had already been filed than in the same period of the previous year.

Of this increase, 235,000 were taxpayers who a year earlier had waited to receive assistance in the offices as of May and, nevertheless, last year they did take advantage of the different non-face-to-face help channels to speed up the process and, where appropriate, the return, avoiding trips to the face-to-face assistance platforms.

In addition, close to a third of the taxpayers who two years ago went to the Agency’s offices for help in preparing their declarations and who, nevertheless, did not make any changes with respect to the initial calculations proposed by the AEAT , last year they already opted for non-face-to-face routes, thus avoiding displacements and having the opportunity to receive before, if applicable, the refund that corresponded to them.
