Welcome to the sixth installment of the WooCommerce course, in which we learn more features about this interesting eCommerce plugin for WordPress.
Today we see how to import and export products in WooCommerce. Either to import the entire catalog of a supplier or to migrate ecommerce.
6.1 – Export products from WooCommerce
We start with the easy. Let’s see how to export products from WooCommerce. This can be useful in the case that we want to have a list of products for our use outside the store, or to migrate the data to another WooCommerce or another eCommerce.
As you can see, the plugin is very flexible and allows us to export all the fields we want, as well as filter based on many variables, so that we can export all the products, or just a selection that interests us, such as a particular category, only those that are in stock, or only those that fall within a price range.
6.2 – Import products to WooCommerce
We are now going to see the opposite. Let’s imagine that we have a supplier that supplies us with hundreds of products, or thousands of them. If we have to upload them all one by one we will waste months. It is better to import them automatically with this plugin, which will allow us to upload a CSV file like the one we just created, we will be able to map all the data and update our catalog quickly. Let’s go there!
It is done! As you can see, the plugin has even detected which products already existed, and has not duplicated them. The plugin also allows us to filter the products to import, and then identifies each import with a unique code to reuse them in the future. A luxury, come on. 🙂
