We interviewed , a clothing designer, who welcomed us in her incredible showroom and told us about her creative process, how she created the style of her brand, and her strategies to maintain innovation in her garments without losing the essence.

I am Juli Santini and I am a designer.

I created the brand when I was 17 years old, I was about to start a career in Clothing Design. At first, the challenges I had were how to reach the public I wanted, because the brand’s style was always quite particular and it was very difficult to find a clientele.

My creative process consists of looking for a lot of vintage, old, analog material, of all kinds, actually, from movies to papers and travel tickets, and I made notebooks that I called Logs but that are like artist’s books. There I was putting everything I did and they are very important to me because there I have all my creative process. And what I try all the time is to achieve a semantic chain between all the collections and if you wear a garment from this collection it will work perfectly with a garment from five years ago.
And I love that, because it is exactly what I want to achieve, that everything be like a great story.

My clients have a very important role in everything that is my creative process and in the designs, because they show me how to combine clothes and how to use things. And I use it to design.

My experience selling in other countries began very recently, when I had the opportunity to, I realized that in the countries I went to, a lot of people followed me and asked me for clothes, but it was like a fear and a big step .

At one point, I realized that I had an online store and could sell that way. I spoke with the Tiendanube team to find out how to do it, mainly due to the issue of payments.

The next challenge is to promote a little more, so that people from other countries know that my online store is now open and that now, in addition to following my brand, they can buy my designs.

During the year we do a series of events that are already classics of the brand. So, when we do the biggest sale of the brand, in the showroom, and the girls from the interior, and now from other countries, cannot come, I try to make a coupon or something fun so that they feel a bit part of it too. and that’s when I articulate the online store with the showroom. Not only in the sales process, but when the product arrives at their house, which is wrapped in a nice package, some little message that I write them personally, etc.

What the online store allowed me is to be able to reach many more people, I think it is a window to the world to which, nowadays, we have to pay a lot of attention because all sales go through there and it is growing more and more .

I also improved a lot in terms of product quality. I had to start paying close attention to technical details. And obviously sales increased and it is sold all year round thanks to the online store.

My strategy when it comes to selling in my online store consists of doing basically the same thing that I do in the showroom: making super sales. What I do is close the store for a few days, about three or four days, to be able to prepare everything that a sale implies and show all the preparation on social networks. When I publish that the store is finally online, a lot of expectation was generated and they want to see what is new, what are the discounts, if there is free shipping, because in general I do a lot, I think they get very hooked on that and with the coupons and with the garments, obviously, that are on sale.

The best advice I can give to those who already have an online store is to not stop paying attention to your customers. To what they need and want, it is very important that they give it the value that they deserve and that they take into account what they want for the brand and for the future of the brand. Because the reality is that they are the ones on the other side and the ones who consume and you have to ask them, sometimes it’s as simple as that.
