Anyone who thinks of artisan crockery, centuries old and with a lot of history, surely remembers La Cartuja de Sevilla. It is one of the benchmark companies in a sector that has historically been associated with high society, the nobility and royalty.

The Spanish ceramic sector has an indisputable benchmark. This is the tableware company La Cartuja de Sevilla, which in the 19th century knew how to compete with the most emblematic ceramic brands in the world. Its earthenware tableware is almost an institution in itself and there is no person from Spanish high society who does not have one of its hundred-year-old tableware in their cabinets.

The company was founded in the mid-19th century by the Marquis of Pickman, who opted for the purest craftsmanship to create each of the pieces that make up these luxurious tableware, which are small pieces of art.

Tableware is usually made up of numerous pieces, both for everyday use and other more special ones, designed for unique occasions. The manufacturing process is completely handmade, following what was learned more than 150 years ago. Because of this, each dish, tray or dish at La Cartuja de Sevilla is exclusive and unrepeatable. Its unique engravings have been created by hand by the most professional master craftsmen.

The plates are signed on the back, and some of the current dinnerware is reinvented versions of vintage pieces that were designed over 100 years ago. La Cartuja de Sevilla was part of the suppliers of the Spanish Royal House at the end of the 19th century. In addition, these luxury dishes have dressed the tables of all the members of the jet set in our country. Today, some of their complete tableware can reach figures of more than 1,000 euros.
