It is very rare that a module requires 777 permissions, this means that any user, including visitors, has full control over what is in that folder, being a security hole in your account.
If you want to try it if it works like this, from the Cpanel of your hosting account, you have an application called File Manager, locate the folder and then mark it and at the top you will see a permissions option from which you can assign permissions.
