White screen
Surely you have ever read or heard of the ““, or White Screen of Death (WSOD) commonly defined as screen of death. Well, I hope and wish that you have not had to go through it, although it is not something so catastrophic and it can be solved, like everything that is built with code.
This issue is the result of an error in your WordPress PHP files or WordPress database. When this error occurs, you see a white screen instead of normal website content. Depending on the cause, the error may affect the entire website or just parts of it.
The white screen of death can be fixed simply by following a series of steps and using the right tools; and if for some reason you can’t, you will always have the go back to your latest backup why do you do it, right? 🤔 and recover the state before the WSOD.
To solve this error there is no specific pattern, since there can be many and multiple causes that originate it, so resorting to the “WordPress debug mode” is a first start, from the dashboard, to debug the error and be able to solve it .
Check from your Hosting Panel, using the File Managerthe file error_log that you will find in the main folder of your WordPress website, because all the records of the PHP errors that occur on your website are automatically written there.
Copy the error and search the Internet for it, you will find hundreds of cases similar to yours already documented and the vast majority providing the specific solution to your case. Remember that there is no single error that causes the “blank screen”, so there is no single way to solve it.
