Madrid advances the curfew at 10:00 p.m. and the closure of the hotel business at 9:00 p.m.

The Community of Madrid prohibits meetings of people who are not cohabiting in the houses from Monday and advances the curfew from 11:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. In addition, as a measure to stop the spread of the coronavirus, the hotel industry will have to close at 9:00 p.m. and only groups of a maximum of four people per table can meet in these establishments. The Ministry of Health has also made a call to promote teleworking in those companies that can organize themselves with their employees.

This was announced this Friday at a press conference by the Minister of Health, Enrique Ruiz Escudero, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Public Health and the covid-19 Plan, Antonio Zapatero; and the general director of Public Health, Elena Andradas. “We are in a new scenario that forces us to change the rules of the game,” remarked the head of Health.

Regarding the previous measures, in hotels and restaurants the number that can be grouped at each table is reduced from six to four people, both indoors and outdoors. In addition, the bar service is suspended. Only pharmacies, medical establishments, veterinarians, gas stations and those that provide essential and urgent services can open at night.

The capacity space in leisure centers in shopping centers will be 50%. For its part, the capacity will be 75% in theatres, cinemas and other cultural facilities, 40% in the multipurpose rooms (such as the Wizink Center), the outdoor terraces that remain at 75%, and the non-regulated training, also at 75%.

Hospitality Madrid has estimated that the reduction from six to four diners in bars and restaurants in the region according to the latest standards approved by the Community of Madrid would mean daily losses of 7.2 million euros and 40% less activity.

In addition, the restrictions are extended to the entire perimeter of the municipality of Collado-Villalba and the entire perimeter of Rivas-Vaciamadrid with the addition of four other basic zones. Likewise, there will be mobility restrictions in the towns of Cercedilla, Navacerrada, Los Molinos, Colmenar de Oreja, Quijorna and Serranillos del Valle.
