Mercadona withdraws by surprise two of the most acclaimed products of the summer from its shelves

One of the most acclaimed products with the arrival of the heat is gazpacho. A refreshing drink that provides vitamins (A, C and E), minerals (potassium, sodium and magnesium) and antioxidants; increases good cholesterol (HDL) while helping to reduce bad cholesterol (LDL), with minimal amounts of protein and carbohydrates and with acceptable levels of salt.

Among the ready-to-eat packaged options, one of the most popular are, as expected, those marketed by Mercadona. However, a recent change in its catalog has caught the attention of its customers.

Goodbye to ‘Andaluz’ and ‘Suave’

A Twitter user, Sebbgod, was asking the supermarket chain directly about one of its regular products. “Hey, Mercadona, I haven’t seen mild gazpacho for a couple of weeks. Besides, the label isn’t there and it doesn’t appear on your website,” she recently wrote questioning Mercadona.

Hey, I haven’t seen the soft gazpacho for a couple of weeks. In addition, the label is not there nor does it appear in your app. I hope you have not discontinued it now that summer is coming ????

Another user, Cristina Montagudo, asked the same question interested in the Andalusian variant. “I need to know if they have removed the Andalusian gazpacho from Mercadona. I haven’t found it in my usual store for at least two weeks.”

Hello good afternoon, I need to know if they have removed the Andalusian gazpacho from Mercadona? I haven’t found it in my usual store for at least two weeks. Thank you very much.

Only option: the ‘Traditional’

Unfortunately, the worst omens were confirmed by Mercadona and the response in both cases was similar. “Good afternoon. We no longer have this gazpacho, instead we can offer you the traditional gazpacho (red brik) in 330ml mini briks or 1L briks, as well as a fresh bottled gazpacho in both 1L and 330ml sizes. Regards” , responded Mercadona.

To date, Mercadona had three varieties of gazpacho from its white brand, Hacendado, in its catalogue. The ‘Tradicional’ (which continues to be offered), the ‘Andaluz’ (with bread) and the ‘Suave’ (with a less intense flavour).

However, its customers will have to make do with the ‘Traditional’ variant, or opt for the ‘Fresco’ gazpacho, marketed in plastic bottle format.
