Every day that passes, thousands of new documents are published on the Internet, and thousands of people connect for the first time. New possibilities for using the Internet appear relatively frequently, and new terms are constantly being invented in order to understand each other in this new world that does not stop growing.

These figures indicate, for example, that in the 21st century Internet users could reach the numerical figure of those who currently watch television. The Internet is becoming a reality of our time and can cause a small revolution in our way of life, in the same way that mobile phones or compact discs have done. The number of Internet users in Latin America is growing at a compound annual percentage rate of 41 percent – the fastest in the world – and is expected to reach 29.4 million in 2003, according to market research firm International Data Corp. (IDC), owned by International Data Group Inc., parent of IDG News Service.
