Price of electricity today February 24 by the hour: when is it cheaper and when is it more expensive to put electrical appliances

After a difficult closing of the 2021 academic year, in which the main energies increased considerably, the start of 2022 has not brought better news and thus, gas, gasoline, butane or electricity continue to increase. For this reason, it is vital to know when it is more profitable to use certain electrical appliances (iron, washing machine, dishwasher, oven…) since their consumption can vary, assuming significant savings over the days.

As shown by the data from (OMIE), the organization that manages the electricity markets of Spain and Portugal and collects their rates, the average price of electricity in Spain during this Thursday, February 24, is 205.6 euros/ MWh. Very high figures when compared to the price set a year ago, when the MWh cost 41.37 euros.

At what time is electricity cheaper?

Regarding the daily variation, marked by a kWh price, according to data from , the cheapest sections are concentrated in the early hours and at noon. However, it is at the last minute (between 23:00 and 24:00) when the lowest price will be registered, with 0.23573 euros/kWh.

At what time is electricity more expensive?

On the contrary, the hours around the afternoon present the highest costs, being between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., the moment with a higher price (0.37322 euros/kWh).

Why does the price of electricity vary so much?
