We are migrating from Joomla 1.5.26 to Joomla 3.3.
Taking advantage of the migration and the fact that the template we used before does not exist in Joomla 3.3, we want to redesign the website.
The main problem arises when presenting the home page: www.autonomo.es/j336
We have selected the main menu item “Home” of the type Articles/Show all featured articles, although in the particular configuration of that menu we have fixed that only one “introduction” article is displayed. That is, occupying the entire width in a single column. So far so good.
Now what we would like would be for a category presentation style module to be displayed under this featured news in blog format, which would show non-featured articles (so that duplicates are not displayed with the featured one above) from all categories. 1. We did not find any module (of the basic ones that come with the installation) that does what we want, since they all show lists or links, instead of summaries. 2. Also, when placing any module and setting it to display on the home page, the featured article that was previously displayed on the home page disappears. 3. With the template we are using (Gavick News) there are different module extensions that would do things similar to the one we want, but when enabling any of these, an error 1064 ends up appearing when entering the web, so we have to remove them.
I do not know if I have explained myself very well. Basically what we want is that below the featured article on the “home” page, something similar to what is shown if you click on the “municipalities” or “autonomous” menu items is displayed. If it is also excluding non-featured articles, all the better, but this is the last thing.
