These ‘cars without a license’ are nothing more than four-wheeled quadricycles, weighing less than 350 kilograms and with a power that prevents them from exceeding 45 kilometers per hour. Also, as their nickname indicates, they do not require their owners to have a driver’s license, but rather an AM class permit. As with mopeds, they can be driven from the age of 15.
According to data from the online sales portal, during the last year 2021 the offer of this type of vehicle increased by 22% compared to the previous year.

This growth means that in the Canary Islands, as indicated, the average price of these vehicles is experiencing a rise of 168%, since it has gone from 1,273 euros to 3,414. And just between the two amounts is the average price of this type of vehicle: 2,600 euros.
By region, Galicia and Castilla-La Mancha are the ones that have witnessed the growth of their offer the most, with an increase of 38% in both communities.
As for brands and models, Aimax, Ligier and Chatenet are, in that order, the most in demand, although Ligier is the one that is experiencing the greatest growth. For its part, both the Aixam crossline and the Ligier JS50 DCI are the most popular models.
