The real estate market in Spain has changed. Before, the promoters built houses based on salary or the economy of demand, now that traditional construction model has been left behind, giving way to housing constructions designed based on the needs of people, such as, for example, the senior living , a new concept that arrives next year in Madrid.
Current demographic trends are generating a true revolution in hosting models. Among those that are appearing is the senior living, aimed at independent people over 65 years of age who have full cognitive and physical capacity.
France and the United Kingdom are the leading countries in senior living in Europe, however Spain is becoming a leading country for this type of housing model due to the aging of the population, as well as the level of quality of life and of the services provided, since more and more Spaniards are demanding this type of service that meets their needs in order to have all the services at their disposal and therefore a better quality of life.
Different types of senior living
Within the senior living segment there is no single model. There are several focused on the autonomous population over 60-65 years of age. However, two models can be found.
– Senior Living Cohousing: group of people with common interests who come together under the cooperative formula to promote the project where they are going to reside. Although the prices are more affordable, it is the property purchase format.
– Senior Living Coliving: homes with common areas developed by a developer whose units are marketed (in sales format) among the senior market.
– Senior Living Resort: urbanization normally located on the coast and intended for foreign residents.
