Based on this, the Minimum Vital Income is compatible with other income “including labor and those obtained by self-employed workers” and “with other finalist social aid, such as scholarships or study aid, housing aid , emergency aid, and other similar ones”, as stated on the website of the Ministry of Social Rights and the 2030 Agenda.
The key is that this income does not exceed the amounts determined for each type of coexistence unit. If it is not exceeded, the Minimum Vital Income can cover what is missing for each cap. How the Minimum Vital Income works
Taking these limit amounts for each coexistence unit as a reference, it is possible to know if a person is entitled to collect the Minimum Vital Income based on their income level.
Thus, a citizen who lives with a minor and receives, for example, an unemployment benefit (451.92 euros per month) could collect it at the same time as the IMV, which in this case would be 262.37 euros (the difference between its limit amount, 714.29 euros, and the value of the subsidy).
