Dr. Li-Meng Yan, a virologist who worked at the Hong Kong School of Public Health, has published a new article defining SARS-CoV-2, also known as Covid-19, as “an unrestricted biological weapon”. According to the document, published in , two possibilities must be considered to explain the origin of the coronavirus: its natural evolution or its creation in a laboratory. In a previous study, and they argued that this was the result of a modification carried out in a laboratory.
However, this theory continues to be minimized or even repudiated, according to the authors, since the natural origin of SARS-CoV-2 would be supported by other new coronaviruses released after the start of the outbreak. In this sense, they mention the RaTG13 and RmYN02 bat coronaviruses, as well as a series of pangolin coronaviruses, such as some that share an almost homologous sequence with SARS-CoV-2, which would support the possible natural evolution of Covid-19.
However, this virologist assures that after an in-depth analysis of the available data and the existing literature, it can be shown that these “new animal coronaviruses do not exist in nature and their sequences have been manufactured.”
In this way, his team considers that the natural theory of the evolution of Covid-19 is unfounded and his new study supports that SARS-CoV-2 “is a product modified in a laboratory, which can be created in approximately six months using a model virus owned by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army”. Not only that. The fact that data has been fabricated to cover up the true origin of SARS-CoV-2 reveals “the scale and coordinated nature of a scientific fraud” that exposes “the degree of corruption in the fields of academic research and public health “.
Yan believes it is important to note that while SARS-CoV-2 meets the criteria for a Chinese People’s Liberation Army bioweapon, its impact is far greater than expected for a mainstream bioweapon. He also stresses how the release of this pathogen should have been intentional rather than accidental.
“Therefore, we consider SARS-CoV-2 as an unrestricted biological weapon and the current pandemic is the result of biological warfare. Furthermore, we suggest that investigations be carried out on the government and suspected individuals and that those responsible hold them accountable for this brutal attack on the world community,” he concludes.
This virologist, who claims to have conducted some of the first research on Covid-19 last year, has previously accused Beijing of lying and trying to cover up her work on the matter.
In April, Yan fled Hong Kong fearing for her safety for the United States to raise awareness about the pandemic. The virologist alleged that her former supervisors at the Hong Kong School of Public Health, a World Health Organization reference laboratory, silenced her when she raised the alarm about human-to-human transmission of the virus in December last year. .
He also claimed that before he left China, his studies on the virus were removed from government databases. The laboratory has denied that Yan “has conducted any research on person-to-person transmission” of the coronavirus and stressed that his claims “have no scientific basis.”
Yuan Zhiming, director of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, has previously denied allegations that COVID-19 accidentally spread from his facility. For their part, a group of California virologists published an article months ago describing the genetic sequence of the virus that, they say, proves that “SARS-CoV-2 is not a laboratory construction or a virus manipulated on purpose.”
