The Government studies advancing the curfew to 8:00 p.m. throughout Holy Week

According to regional sources, and given the rebound in the incidence of the pandemic caused by covid-19, the Government is studying advancing the curfew to 8:00 p.m. throughout Holy Week. This measure will be debated this Wednesday in the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System that meets this afternoon at 4:00 p.m.

The Ministry of Health has tested the autonomous communities to advance the commercial closure to 8:00 p.m. and restrict the perimeter closure so that it is carried out between provinces, given the increase in infections that has occurred in recent days and the proximity of the Holy Week.

This is confirmed by several autonomous communities before the Health consultation prior to the meeting of the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System that is held this Wednesday and the increase in cases of Covid-19. According to ‘El Mundo’, the department headed by Carolina Darias would have discussed the possibility of changing the ‘curfew’ to 8:00 p.m. The ministry, on the possibility that new measures can be adopted in relation to the modification of schedules and mobility, refers to the meeting of the interterritorial council this afternoon

Currently, the decree of the state of alarm establishes the curfew between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., although the autonomous communities can modify that section as long as it moves within that time frame.

The Government defended that a change in that schedule would be outside the legal framework of the state of alarm when Castilla y León raised it months ago. The decree of the Government of the popular Alfonso Fernández Mañueco was appealed to the Supreme Court, which suspended the order of Castilla y León a little over a month ago.

At the beginning of April, the Government and the Autonomous Communities agreed to maintain the , taking into account that there were already regions such as Madrid where the curfew was at 11 p.m., or Castilla-La Mancha, which for days has raised it to 24 hours.

The incidence goes up slightly

The autonomous communities have notified the Ministry of Health on Tuesday of 5,516 new cases of coronavirus, of which 2,941 have been diagnosed in the last 24 hours, compared to the 1,318 registered on Monday, which raises the global number of people infected with Covid- 19 since the start of the pandemic at 3,234,319. However, the Valencian Community has not offered the data on Tuesday due to “technical problems”.

The current average incidence of infections in Spain in the last 14 days has increased slightly, standing at 129.55 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, compared to the 128.71 reported on Monday by the department led by Carolina Darias.
