The heteropatriarchy and statistics

Good statistics are hated by ideologues and sectarians of all stripes, since it is easier to invent the cause of any social phenomenon than to demonstrate that causality. That is why these people do not stop using conveniently manipulated and heavily publicized statistics.

Among all, two widely publicized mortality series stand out: deaths in traffic accidents and murders due to “gender violence.” During 2016, 1,160 deaths occurred in traffic accidents on interurban roads in Spain. The DGT also provided the “causes”: distractions, inadequate speed, fatigue, drugs, alcohol, not wearing a seatbelt… But the newspapers forget that 75% of deaths occurred on “conventional” roads, that is, that only 25% of the dead were in accidents on highways or highways. And where does the DGT have its radars? Well, in the latter. To avoid accidents? Well no, to put more fines.

Last year, 44 women were murdered by their partners or ex-partners, but it was hidden that this number was the lowest for years and also that 35% of the murderers were foreigners and among the women murdered 43% were foreigners. Proportions that are well above the proportions of foreigners with respect to the population, both male and female, born in Spain. Does anyone know how many such murders occur in same-sex couples? No. That too is carefully hidden.

Another censorship is the one that also hides deaths by suicide (in Spain there were 3,602 in 2016). Why? It is said that its publication could incite suicide, but I have another answer: 74.4% of suicides in 2016 were men and such an overwhelming difference compared to women is not liked at all by those who maintain that “hetero-patriarchy” is the source of all evil.
