The pen that writes without ink and lasts a lifetime

Italian design studio Pininfarina and stationery company Napkin have teamed up to produce the Aero ballpoint pen. It is an eternal pen, since it does not use ink to write.

Since 2014, the two companies have been working together with the aim of surprising and innovating in the stationery sector. And the Aero pen is the latest product of this collaboration and the most amazing one. It has a tip made from a patent-pending metal alloy, Ethergraf, which was inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s silver tip studies. This material is capable of leaving an indelible trace.

The Pininfarina and Napkin pen weighs only 17 grams and its design is characterized by an aeronautical aesthetic. In fact, the material used to manufacture these pens is aerospace aluminum. Regarding the design, its hollow body and a shape that, according to perspective, is reminiscent of the mathematical symbol for infinity, stands out. Inside, the blue color adds notes of elegance.

Napkin completes this article with a hard and solid support that contrasts with the lightness of Aero. The company Mecom has been the manufacturer of the mould, Nuovi Gioielli composed the mixture and Crea Cemento those responsible for the support. The price for a pen for life: 120 euros.
